Calendula

Calendula is one of the most beneficial plants in Western medicine since it is antiseptic, bacteriostatic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, antifungal, antispasmodic, and diaphoretic. As a result of its effects on cell growth and proliferation, granulation tissue formation, and wound healing, it is used to treat a number of skin conditions.

Calendula has therapeutic benefits throughout its entire plant, but only fresh or dried flowers and leaves are utilized to prepare a tincture. The tincture is applied topically to treat sprains, falls, lacerations, varicose vein ulcers, bites, and stings. It is also commonly used to treat injured perineal tissues following childbirth. Additionally, it aids in the control of hemorrhages. Calendula gargle is quite good for sore throats and mouth ulcers. Calendula is applied to wounds after dental procedures, such as tooth extraction, that do not heal quickly and continue to bleed. This herb has the ability to prevent suppuration gangrene and sepsis and is beneficial for treating diaper rash in infants.
